New Service Development

JBI offers contract opportunities for professionals with relevant experience
and an interest in best practices and leading edge innovation and IT
integration.

If you have expertise in the following areas, express your interest in one
or more of the following contract opportunities. These may be delivered in
part-time or full-time modes and remote delivery and project management is
also considered , so applicants needn’t be based in Melbourne.

In each instance the contractor will be responsible for:

  • Researching and scoping regulatory environments nationally.
  • Identifying or developing best practice inspection procedures.
  • Developing report formats and content using BuildInspect.
  • Assisting with marketing and communications planning.
  • Assist with administrative requirements including insurance coverage.
  • Preparation of requisite preinspection terms and conditions and additional content for glossaries and modifications to terms and conditions.
  • Assisting with internal training requirements.
  • Operational roll out of the new service area including supervised inspections and report reviews program evaluation.

Essential Measures, Maintenance and Safety Inspections

Essential Measures, Maintenance and Safety Inspections  (Contract  position)

Qualifications and Experience Requirement Building Surveyor or equivalent Essential Maintenance / Measures and Safety Inspections Experience Required.

Contract Position:

Develop best practice, innovative procedures, systems and documentation for Essential Measures / Maintenance and Safety Inspection services.

Apply your experience and expertise to develop industry leading best practices, including the opportunity to work with our industry leading app BuildInspect.

Conduct national research, develop training programs and contribute to the development of related marketing and communication strategies.

Extend your expertise, apply these principles and your knowledge of building regulations to a home safety inspections for children and seniors also to be launched.

You should be motivated, have a desire to be on the leading edge of best practice, extensive knowledge of relevant regulations, strong IT and technical writing skills.

Strong verbal, interpersonal capacity with prior experience delivering community education or training are highly desirable.

This is initially a short term contract which can delivered on a part-time or full-time basis depending on applicants considered.

Opportunity for contract extension with new areas of service delivery being pursued nationally on an ongoing basis.

ACT and NT Services Development

Jim’s plans to launch building inspection service delivery into the ACT and the NT in early 2015.

As the operating environment and scope of reporting conducted in the ACT and NT varies significantly from the rest of the country, an experienced building inspector from the ACT and the NT is sought to assist in preparations to roll out services in these locations.

Undertake a review and gap analysis of current JBI operating practices with respect to the ACT requirement. Develop any additional reporting inspection procedures. Modify report formats and prepare required content for our App BuildInspect. Assist with modifications to our training where required and more as described above.

The suitable applicant may be remunerated on a direct subcontract basis or may take up an offer to become the first Jim’s Building Inspector located in that area in return for services.
