My journey into building began when I accepted a position designing and supervising the re landscaping of Victorian high schools. I discovered a love for building and specifically building landscaped gardens. Having spent my youth and then later years as a carpenter, I’ve witnessed and worked on most building types at some point, being experienced in new construction, renovations, relocatable homes, commercial fit out and civil construction. This experience has enable me to confidently understand buildings and the building industry.
My keen interest in building pushed me to enroll at University in order to study building technology and design. This experience certainly grew my understanding of building enormously and has enabled me to “ read “ a building much better. Understanding why building are built the way they are has enabled me to understand any issues that may be present.
Being involved in the Jim’s business is so refreshing in terms of Jim’s focus on excellent customer service, and the need to maintain the highest standards.
As a father of 5, I spend my down time teaching children everything I’ve learnt about the physical world and specifically how to fish, forage, grow food and build shelter. It really is satisfying passing my knowledge onto the next generation. They really are my best investment.
